Paul Joo, CPA (714) 537-1200

Mr. Paul S. Joo, CPA, is the owner and general manager of the firm. He studied accounting at UCLA graduating in 1988. After graduation, he spent several years working as a Senior Auditor at various accounting firms including PriceWaterhouse Coopers, one of the world's largest professional accounting firms, where he acquired invaluable consulting skills working with many successful corporate owners. As part of these engagements, he witnessed the positive influence of his services on his clients as their businesses prospered. This hands-on business experience prepared him to be a successful entrepreneur in his own accounting firm, Paul S. Joo, CPA Accountancy Corporation which he established in December, 2005 in Garden Grove, California.

As a result of his expert knowledge and prudent character, the firm has experienced tremendous growth since opening. In November 2010, the practice expanded through the opening of a second branch office in Brea, CA. This enabled the firm to service a broader client base including clients located in Northern Orange County. The firm services a wide range of clients from many different industries, domestic and foreign, including but not limited to manufacturers, labor union chapters, non-profit entities, wholesalers and retailers and for profit schools.

Mr. Joo has been frequently invited to speak on various tax topics including Gift and Estate planning and Real Estate taxes in seminars and local attorneys' BAR associations meetings. Mr. Joo is also pursuing a Masters' degree in Taxation at Golden Gate University. Mr. Joo has been a CPA since 1996.

Frank Rawson, CPA (Inactive) (714) 537-1200

Mr. Rawson, CPA has held his CPA license since 1983. He started in public accounting with Kenneth Leventhal & Company, a national CPA firm specializing in real estate related activities, working in both the auditing and tax departments as well as on consulting engagements. He has also held controllership and financial management positions for several medium sized businesses included a real estate syndicator and construction contractor. He previously has his own practice for ten years in Orange County working with small and medium sized businesses. This background provides him with a broad prospective from which to advise on auditing, accounting and tax matters.

Mr. Rawson earned his B.A. in Economics from Stanford University in 1973 and has completed significant post graduated work in accounting and taxation at California State University, Long Beach and California State University, Fullerton.

Judy Klein, CPA (714) 537-1200

Ms. Judy Klein obtained her CPA license in 2003 in State of California. She retains a wide array of advanced experience in both accounting and taxation. Ms. Klein also worked as a financial analyst in international financial institutions in various parts of Asia for four years.

Moving on to the United States, she has worked in reputable CPA firms at Beverly Hills, West Los Angeles, and Newport Beach. As a result of her successful career, Ms. Klein was promoted from staff accountant to audit supervisor. Prior to joining our firm in 2014, Ms. Klein played a major role as an accountant to expand an international bakery chain with its branches in United States. She successfully led this bakery business to quadruple its store numbers in seventeen months.

Ms. Klein earned her Bachelor’s Degree from National Taiwan University, Department of Finance. She is fluent in both Mandarin and English. Her greatest fulfillment is to help others with her knowledge and expertise in accounting, taxation, finance, and business development.

Boree Kim, CPA (714) 537-1200

Joining the firm on July 2016 was Ms. Boree Kim, who finished Master of Science degree in Personal Financial Planning from Kansans State University in Manhattan, Kansas. Prior to joining our firm, she has been an experienced accountant and a financial advisor since 2003 working at various local CPA firms and private companies. She advised many tax and auditing clients by providing necessary research in tax code, international tax treaties to facilitate proper handling of clients tax needs.

She possesses strong accounting and financial knowledge with excellent management skills. Being educated in out of state (Kansas), she is keenly aware of multi-state tax issues involved in large corporations and high net worth individuals.

She graduated with Bachelor of Science degree in Statistics from SookMyung Women’s University in Korea. She speaks English and Korean fluently and passed the CPA exam.

Kelly An (714) 537-1200

Ms. Kelly An started her career in 2008 at a local CPA firm and has worked her way up to her current position as an senior accountant. Before joining our team in November 2016, Kelly has been working to assist small to medium businesses in a variety of industries and individuals with their taxation, tax planning, bookkeeping, and other accounting services. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration with Accounting concentration at California State University, Fullerton graduating in May, 2013 with honors Magna Cum Laude. She passed the CPA exams and is currently working toward to obtain her CPA license in the near future. Kelly says she is enjoying helping other people with their tax returns and tax issues.

Hyo Woen Kang 714-537-1200

Ms. Hyowoen Kang obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy at Missouri State University in Missouri on May 2015. After her graduation, she moved to California and joined Paul S. Joo, CPA office in order to develop and further expand her accounting knowledge while she is earning her invaluable work experience to obtain her CPA license in the near future. She is also working toward her MBA degree to be of a valuable asset on the path to a world of professional accountant. She speaks fluent Korean and Chinese.

Hyowoen says, “Accounting is fun! Also, as long as money makes the world go around, accountant will always be on demand. Accounting is a basic tool which I can apply across the broad business spectrum. I want to be a CPA as profession serving my community. “

SungChil Baek (714) 537-1200

Mr. SungChil Baek(Nathan Baek) obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from HanYang University with a major in Mechanical Engineering in Seoul, South Korea and also studied in accounting, Administration law and International law. With recent public accounting experience, he has provided his expert knowledge for various clients including US importer and exporter, interstate trucking business owners, education clients, restaurant business owners and many other retailers. Currently, Mr. Baek is pursing to pass the CPA exam.

Mr. HoSub Yoon is a California State University, Long Beach graduate with a Bachelor of Science, Accountancy in August, 2015. He joined the Paul S. Joo, CPA office to further expand his accounting knowledge and obtain public accounting experience in July 2016. He acquired all the prerequisite courses to sit on the California State Uniform Exam to pursue to obtain his CPA license while working in this firm.

Ms. Soojung Jung obtained her Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Mathematics from Sungkyunkwan University and Master degree in Education with emphasis in Mathematics Education from Ajou University in Korea. Formerly She was a Mathematics teacher in a high school, currently she pursuits to be a CPA to serve many people. She completed prerequisite Accounting courses for CPA test at Irvine Valley College and UCSD Extension. She says Accounting is a systematic process of the best service for not only business entities but also individuals.

Philip Kim (714) 537-1200

Mr. Philip Kim is a California State University, Northridge graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies in 2011. As a post-graduate, he has completed all the prerequisite credits in accounting and business courses that is required for the California State Uniform CPA Exam in which he is currently preparing. The combination of Philip’s skill sets in accounting and communication studies has manifested to be one of his strongest traits. He also has aspirations to further his education by obtaining a Masters in professional accountancy in the near future.
